Vibrate Tag in Cinema 4D is an animation tag that applies random or periodic motion to an object's position, rotation, or scale, helping to create natural-looking vibrations, shakes, or subtle movements without manual keyframing.

What It Is

  • Adds procedural random or oscillating animation to object properties.
  • Can affect position, rotation, and scale independently or combined.
  • Useful for simulating natural vibrations, camera shakes, or environmental effects.
  • Non-destructive and adjustable at any time.

How It Works

  1. Apply the Vibrate Tag to the desired object.
  2. Choose which properties to affect: Position, Rotation, Scale.
  3. Set amplitude values for each axis to control the intensity of the vibration.
  4. Select vibration type: Random noise or periodic sine wave oscillation.
  5. Adjust frequency and phase to control speed and timing of the motion.
  6. Preview the effect in the viewport and tweak parameters as needed.

Use Cases

  • Adding natural jitter to mechanical parts or props.
  • Creating camera shake effects for action or impact scenes.
  • Simulating environmental effects like wind or vibration.
  • Enhancing motion graphics with subtle random motion.

Benefits

  • Quickly adds realistic motion without keyframing.
  • Flexible control over affected properties and intensity.
  • Non-destructive, easy to enable or disable.
  • Improves visual interest and believability in animations.
