Frequently Asked Questions

Both apps — Tutorial Player and Ai Studio — are available to Yearly and Lifetime members at no extra cost. They're included as part of your membership, the same way the CG Shortcuts Cinema 4D plugin is. If your membership lapses, you'll lose access to future updates and new apps, but any version you've already downloaded will continue to work on your machine.

Tutorial Player works on any standard Windows PC — no special hardware required. For Ai Studio, it depends how you use it: cloud generation runs on fal.ai's servers and doesn't need a powerful GPU. If you want to run free local models (like Flux Schnell for images or ACE-Step for audio), you'll need a modern NVIDIA GPU with at least 8GB VRAM (16GB+ recommended).

Tutorial Player only needs internet for activation and licence checks — playback is entirely local. Ai Studio needs internet for cloud generation via fal.ai and for downloading local models on first use. Once local models are on your machine, you can generate with them offline.

Tutorial Player is available to download from this page while signed in with a Yearly or Lifetime membership. Run the installer and activate on first launch. Ai Studio is coming soon — Yearly and Lifetime members will get access when it launches. Both apps are self-contained Windows installers.

Ai Studio offers two paths: cloud models via fal.ai (no download needed — you just need a fal.ai API key and credits) and optional local models you can download to your GPU. When you choose to download local models, a setup screen shows what's available, how large each one is, and what it does. Models are saved to your computer and only need to be downloaded once. Expect anywhere from a few hundred MB to 20GB+ depending on the model.

Your CG Shortcuts membership covers access to both apps — there are no per-app subscriptions. Tutorial Player has no ongoing costs. Ai Studio's cloud generation uses your own fal.ai account and credits — you pay fal.ai directly for what you generate. Local models in Ai Studio are free to run on your own GPU with no usage limits.

Yes. Ai Studio uses fal.ai for cloud generation (images, video, audio, and 3D). You'll enter your own fal.ai API key on first launch — it's stored locally on your machine and never sent to CG Shortcuts. Cloud generation costs fal.ai credits; local GPU models don't require fal.ai credits.

It depends on which AI model you use in Ai Studio. Some models are fully open source with commercial use permitted (e.g. FLUX.1 Schnell for images, ACE-Step 1.5 for music). Others are free for personal use only. Ai Studio includes a licensing notice that tells you exactly which models are commercial-friendly and which are personal use only. When in doubt, check the in-app licensing section.

The apps follow the same terms as the CG Shortcuts plugin — licensed for your personal use on up to two registered devices. Sharing installers or account credentials is not permitted. See the Plugin Terms of Use for full details.
Tutorial Player is in active beta — it's downloadable and works, but you may encounter rough edges or the occasional bug. Ai Studio is coming soon and will launch in beta. Use Send feedback for bugs and quality notes, or live chat when you need help right away.

Yes — the plan is to keep adding tools that fit into a Cinema 4D artist's pipeline. Yearly and Lifetime members get access to everything new as it's released.

Post in the Help & Support area with your Windows version and a description of what's happening. For Ai Studio, also include your GPU model if you're using local models. Tutorial Player doesn't require a GPU. Because these are beta releases I can't guarantee a fix for every configuration, but I'll do my best to help.
