Plain Effector

Plain Effector in Cinema 4D is a fundamental MoGraph tool that applies uniform transformations such as position, scale, and rotation to clones or objects without any complex falloff or pattern, making it ideal for simple, direct animation control.

What It Is

  • Applies consistent transformation effects (position, scale, rotation) to all clones or MoGraph objects.
  • Does not use fields or falloffs by default, affecting every clone equally.
  • Often used as a base effector or combined with other effectors for layered animation control.
  • Supports weight maps and custom falloffs for more advanced control if needed.

How It Works

  1. Add a Plain Effector to your scene.
  2. Ensure it is linked to your Cloner or MoGraph object via the Effectors tab.
  3. Adjust position, scale, and rotation parameters to define the transformation applied.
  4. Optionally use falloffs or weight maps to limit or modify the effector’s influence.
  5. Animate the parameters to create uniform motion, scaling, or rotation effects on your clones.

Use Cases

  • Simple uniform movement, scaling, or rotation of cloned objects.
  • Base layer of animation combined with other effectors for complex behaviors.
  • Controlling visibility or other basic attributes uniformly across MoGraph elements.
  • Quickly testing animations with straightforward transformations.

Benefits

  • Easy and fast way to apply uniform transformations.
  • Serves as a fundamental building block in MoGraph animation setups.
  • Flexible when combined with other effectors and falloffs.
  • Non-destructive and fully animatable parameters.
