How to create dynamic cords, cables or wires in Cinema 4D and attach them to objects.

We’ll attach a cable to a 3D microphone and a cord to an old school phone with a curly cable and sim them with dynamics in Cinema 4D.

We use a combination of the Spline Wrap Deformer, Cloth Tag and Connector object to attach two dynamic cloth objects together and simulate the cord/cable.

Watch the brief tutorial where we discuss the setup and download and use the project files royalty-free in your own work.

Includes 2x Project Files: Microphone Version and Phone Version.

This tutorial was requested by James (one of our awesome Members) who was originally trying to create a cable for a guitar scene.

If you make something cool with this technique, we’d love to hear about it in the comments section down below!
