Dynamic Rolling Objects in Cinema 4D – Squishy rolling objects in C4D with cloth body dynamics.

This Project File was requested by Mehran (one of our awesome Members) who saw a similar effect in the ManvsMachine spot for LIFFFE/FFFORMS.

Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Create abstract objects using the volume builder, volume mesher and remesh.
  2. Give the objects a cloth dynamics tag and the floor a collider tag.
  3. The key to getting squishy shapes is to enable SOFT BODY increasing the SOFTNESS and the SPREAD – this will make the object soft but retain its shape.
  4. The Gravity is angled slightly to pull the object along the floor -you can also try disabling the scene gravity.
  5. The objects and the floor also need some friction so they don’t just slide across the floor.
